Why are we all so unhappy? I dunno, but I'll tell you why I am:

Elliott Fletcher was a bully, that is why he was stabbed.

Elliott Fletcher was a bully, plain and simple.

I read an article headline that stated that Elliott Fletcher was a cherished gift from god, and it made my blood boil. No he was not a cherished gift from god, Elliott Fletcher was a bully who pushed a young child to the brink of insanity.

None of the newspapers have actually asked the question:
"Why was Elliott Fletcher Stabbed in the first place?"
Why haven't they asked? Because it doesn't make for a sensationalist headline. "Cherished Elliott, a gift from God" does.

Elliott did not deserve to die, and I'm not condoning voilent behaviour. But I think we should be focusing not just on Elliott the victim, but the poor child who was pushed to the brink of insanity over being tormented and abused by Elliott. Don't know who he is? He's the 13 year old kid who is in Jail on murder charges.

In almost every case of mass killings in American schools and Universities, the person doing the shooting is someone who has been bullied, teased, ridiculed and abused on a regular basis. They go mental from the abuse, and they lash out. It's not that hard to understand folks? Can we not see a pattern here?

Elliott Fletcher should not be remembered as a hero, because to do so will only make things worse. To release 1000 green balloons and hold a special ceremony is essentially sending the wrong message. Elliott should be remembered as exactly as he was: a bully who paid a very dear price for his selfish and harmful actions.

Elliott's life was not the only one that was destroyed that day.

Short and sweet

Why are the governments of the world asking the citizens to donate their hard earned money to rescue Haitians?

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for rescuing Haitians, when Haitians need rescuing. I'm all for rescuing any person when they need rescuing. What bothers me, in this instance is this; the American Government is quite easily able to donate 430 Billion US Tax Dollars to bail out large banks and corporatiosn like Goldman Sachs. But when it comes to saving human lives, no no no, tax payers have to text "Haiti" to the White House on 90999 to send $10 dollars.

Don't you think that a world like this is just a little bit screwed up? What will the aliens think about this when they read their local Intergalactic Tribune? I can picture the headlines now: Hundreds of thousands die on Earth, because the Humans wan't their rich executives to buy nice things.

Lets break this down for the simple folk:

  • Banks and big corporations get 430 Billion dollars of YOUR money, because they did the wrong thing and lent poor people money at interest rates that were not sustainable and subsequently they got themselves into trouble. Much of this money was dished out as Christmas bonuses mind you to top executives (the ones who didn't suicide when they found out they might not be able to afford a new Lamborghini this year.)
  • Haitians get 10 bucks if we can be bothered to text the White House and send them our cash, because the Government has no money of it's own to put towards helping a neighboring countries citizens who are all dying needlessly.

Things you can buy with 430 Billion dollars:

  1. Food for the entire world, for the rest of humanity.
  2. A cure to cancer
  3. A cure to aids.
  4. Free education for everyone
  5. Free healthcare for everyone
  6. All of the above.

No one really cares about my rants, but I just hate to let this slip by without saying something about it. Maybe if one of you read this, and think about it, then it will have been worth staying up all night setting up this damn blog, just to write it.
